Abstract:
Small restoration work of the entrance of a ruined department store building in Vladikavkaz named Dom Novogo Bita.
Once the pride of the city. Built in the early seventies,¹ modernism, a new vision. All over the place people came to visit the department store in Vladikavkaz.
This was a symbol of prosperity and progress, at the time. Now, only the first floor is still in use, small business, repair shops. The building is damaged, so is the symbol. The transience of life. Men at the doorway. A broken entrance. Repairing the ceiling lighting of the entrance amplified this contrast between old and new. Here they meet and invite you to come over, take a shower of light. Wash yourself and look for a moment at the beauty, before it may vanish.
Былая гордость города. Построенный в начале 70-х годов, новое видение, модернизм. Люди приезжали отовсюду в этот универсальный магазин во Владикавказе. Когда-то он был символом процветания и прогресса. Теперь используется только первый этаж небольшими ремонтными мастерскими. Здание разрушено, так же как и символ. Люди возле дверей. Разбитый вход. Восстановление освещения на входе усилило контраст между старым и новым. Здесь они встречаются и зовут вас зайти, «искупаться» в лучах света. У вас есть мгновение увидеть эту красоту, перед тем как она может исчезнуть.
